We love this place and have since it was Merus Grill. J.A.'s has a very relaxed, calming atmosphere with comfortable booths, some tables for larger groups and a large, elegant bar. We've eaten here dozens of times, and the quality and consistency of the food is really impressive. The portions are extremely generous without skimping quality. They did a very good job of freshening up the regular menu with interesting specials ranging from fish tacos to sweet BBQ Thai salmon. The fried calamari is perfect, tender and crunchy. But also, booths and low density crowds that allow older patrons to actually hear each other in conversation.
